What? Try playing 5 with partner having Qx x in the minors on a trump lead or switch and one of the 2 minors breaking 4-1. Even worse, you were beating 4. (A led, spade ruff, A, club ruff or trump promotion)...

Bidding is really a crap shoot. Sure, you might catch pard with a 4 card minor, but that doesnt mean you have 11 tricks. If its a total misfit - where pard has some kind of 6-4 in the majors, then this hand is a nightmare, and we can go for 1400.

Just pass and see what happens. You have an easy lead against 4 - and you will be on lead too.

Nightmares can obviously happen. The question is how likely they are. I don't think it is that bad a shot to try for a save in 5m.
