You end up in 6 played by south. West leads 8. Do you see any chance of making this contract?

It looks hopeless, but it can be made.

East can counter by pitching a club instead on the last heart...

That was my thought as well. While I was writing, I found that East could pitch as well.

Not just any club, the J or 10 in particular. Else Ace and a low club forks the defense. But East can unblock his high clubs for West to win.

Any club would do. At second club (Q or 3), West plays K and continues 3rd for East to (over) ruff.

You are right. If East pitches C8, South could cash 3rd trump and then CA and small C...

You can play for a pseudo squeeze:

play 3 rounds of trumps
play 3 rounds of hearts
then another round of trumps, now this may be the layout:

If you play a 5th round of trumps, west may think you have the following hand:

xx
-
xx
AJ

If he discards a , then you can drop the K.

Forget it, with that hand you have 12 tricks

Edit: It's Free's problem so I'll let him tell the answer.

There's no double dummy solution, only way is a mistake from opponents. Best line is to play low in trick 2. If East overtakes you make your contract. If he doesn't, go to plan B by playing the s and discarding a . But if East is still awake, he'll still get you down.

I had a bonus question, but you guys already saw that if you swap 8 and 9, it's cold :)
