how about starting a new GIB game similar to the declarer games, but this time
you are given the auction and your partner GIB is always on lead on all the hands.
Was thinking about this after someone was complaining about GIB always lead low from xxx and
not top of nothing

I don't think it would be very popular. The fact that GIB can't signal eliminates a significant portion of the skill / logic factor of defending, which is why most robot games are set up as best-hand.

no one says it was intended to be popular, but just think of the headaches one would have from it.

though defending is an integral part of the game and

One of the breakers for me for playing again with someone is "they can't defend". I know for a fact that GIB can't defend with a human, unless they learn how to speak GIB. Why would I volunteer to do that, when there are actual humans I can play with?
Wonder why "best hand" robot games are so popular? It's not because they love defending with a GIB CHO.
Is it a skill? Hell yes. Is it a measurable skill? Yep. So is three-card-monte dealing. Do I want to be known to have either of these skills?
