Is there a possibility to have the option for private chat to be turned off while playing in main bridge club?
One could switch off private chat, except to opponents, the same as during tourneys....
I realize that playing in the main bridge club is more casual, but a flood of private conversations gets to be very distracting even if they are just greetings and responses...one can of course choose to ignore them, and not reply... anti-social behavior  The only difference is that if you don't answer, it is taken personally, whereas if you just have it turned off completely, even if seems anti-social, it is relatively "less rude"...
BBO is a social site and we make a lot of friends but at times i am overwhelmed with the conversations that continue during play in main bridge club, and i find myself making more mistakes than during turneys... (not a good excuse)...
One can of course choose to have an invisible table for a serious game, but then friends cannot come and kibb..... chat on table is not as distracting, because it is not as personal (you hope)...
This might not be something one might want to do very often, but it is IMO a good option...... I find it's good to have a choice :)

You could try writing to the Inviso-button Company; I'm sure they have something like this on the market.

or you can just drag the whole BBO windows downwards with your mouse so you dont have to see any chat and just check once in awhile to make sure someone isnt asking you a question.....I turned off all chat until an ACBL director booted as dummy in the last hand cause I was ignoring his questions....I said look at my profile it says Chat Turned Off.....he said well you need to have it on opponents were asking you questions....."I said its an individual How do i know what partner means with most of his bids! :D

:D lol pigpenz! I found the "ignore all chat" in my profile, but my point was to be able to talk to opponents, as they do ask questions..

Thanks
