Screen freeze and logout

During play my screen keeps freezing. I just think I’m waiting for a slow player. Then it unfreezes and I find play has moved on and I should be playing. More often, after short freeze it logs me out. I can log back in again immediately but by then I’m in total panic and have lost all sense of the game. This has been happening five or so times in a tournament. Can anyone help. I play on a new iPad.
