In defense of GIB North, that's a very strong void in support of hearts. I have never seen better void support than on this hand.

Personally, I think it was the poor quality of the club suit that made GIB decide not to show it. If it had held the ten instead of the nine, THEN it would have been a good enough suit.

It could have been worse. I'm guessing you were playing with advanced bots - basic GIB decides to bid 4♠, which seems reasonable until you see that it promises heart support, and will follow up by signing off in 5♥ no matter what you respond.
Not having followups to off-shape doubles has been a long term weakness of GIB. The definition of 5♣ over 4♥ is identical to that of the double, so indeed appears undefined..
Basic GIB doubles and passes 4♥ even when dealt all 13 clubs
(In fact, it even passes as opener holding a 13 card suit).

The ROBOTS in play today are nothing but bozos .Many of my friends ,and that includes me, have stopped playing with them. .Another dumb Robot failed to cash two winners and thus set a 3NT contract shifted nonsensically to another suit and allowed one OT.The authorities may please consider to engage a better programmer

i think msjennifer is right. im going to try and wean myself from the bots. i like playing them but they seem to get worse and worse. ( or maybe i am). speedballs are better
