Although it would be easy to end up beyond 3NT even if he got things right here.

4NT was what some would call overly ambitious, but getting back to GIB,

If GIB rebids what looks like a perfectly normal 2NT instead of 3♥, I don't see how you would get past 3NT with these 2 hands. Of course we are talking about GIB so anything is possible. :lol: North is on the lower end of the range to make a game forcing response with a flat balanced hand, and South is only a king or so better than a minimum opening bid with no obvious source of tricks.
