I open 1S, GIB has 5 HCP and a doubleton with 3S, Jxx. GIB bids 1NT.
Isn't the correct bid 2S? We have an 8-card major fit.

1NT is correct, GIB plays constructive raises and is planning on rebidding 2S to show either a 2 card raise or a very poor 3 card raise.
