What has happened to the IPad app?

What on earth have you done to the IPad app? Since the last update it has changed completely especially playing with robots anonymously. Until recently I could play anonymously within the app without logging in.
Now, tapping play anonymously opens a tab in Safari. It's incredibly slow, the sound effects are out of synch and it seems to consume a lot of power. There also isn't any facility to log out.
It is AWFUL. Can we please go back to the old app.
