An interesting and somewhat complex play hand.

While playing the 10 at trick 1 is a typical GIB blunder in needlessly squandering a potentially important spot card, the contract can still be made by squeezing East by playing a diamond from dummy to the queen at trick 2, and running 5 hearts. East cannot stop declarer from making 5 hearts, 2 spades, a diamond and a club.

In a sense, GIB ducked the setting trick at trick 2 by ducking 6. If GIB had won K and switched to a club, declarer can't stop the defense from taking 5 tricks. Declarer has to duck a club to prevent West's 13th club from winning a trick, and then East can switch back to spades to set up a 2nd spade trick, 2 spades, a diamond, and 2 clubs beat 3NT.

Maybe this isn't the best play but would hardly call it throwing the setting trick. Have seen Gib do that though.
South played very well and made double dummy. Nothing EW did cost a trick. Maybe if EW played differently S won't find correct play.

East ducked the spade at trick 2. I think that would count as costing a trick.
