Radio or Music switches off when I open app

In the new iPad app, when I am listening to radio or music on iPad the radio switches off when I open BridgeBase. I have switch back the radio app to press play then go back to Bridgabse. The previous version of Nridgebase did not do that.

Does turning off sound effects in the app fix this?
