I hate the problem!
I think I'm bidding 5 and missing a slam.... life is not easy :-)

huh? I don't understand 1H, doesn't that show hearts these days? 3S is fine (splinter) or 2N if thats some sort of limit+ in diamonds. If I play neither of those I guess I'm forced to start with a XX then get better methods :)

2 NT, Truscott, limit raise or better.

They took away your forcing raise,
if playing inv. minor, they gave you
another.

honestly, i didn't expect 1H bid here, but who knows, it may work out well.

luis's 5D is reasonable.

the most troublesome is jump 3S, my partner believed this is preempty weak spade bids. if there were no interferece, jump 3s would be obvious Splinter.

2NT limit raise had flaw, since 3nt on wrong side if partner want to be in there.

XX is most interesting one, and involved a lot of partnership discussion as well.

you have a perfect inverted raise to 2D. So I bid 2N if I play Jacoby. I guess Ben will bid 3D as a limite+ raise, while 2N shows a weak raise. And I think he is right in this case.

3 if it's a splinter in your agreement.
Problem is that for many it simply shows a natural preemptive jump, something like QJxxxxx and nothing else.

Others use crisscross raise after dbl (1C-X-2D or 1D-X-3C) as unbalanced invitational+ raises;
others use crisscross as GF, the jump raise to 3m as invitaional NF and 2NT ("flipflop") as preemptive.

BTW in my pship we use 2C = transfer invitational+ raise of diamonds (2D directly is weak raise), and 1NT = good/bad xfer to clubs.

Otherwise just 5D.

In standard you are stuck for a bid. You have to invent a bid in a three card suit, and play 1 over the double as forcing (clearly you do not really wish to suggest 1 as a final contract.

I play 2NT over this double as either "DESPIRATELY WEAK PREEMPT" in partner's suit, or GAME FORCE in partner's suit. The only problem I have had with this jump is wrongsiding 3NT on hands like this. Irregardless, this hand has terrific slam potential and this is not Matchpoints, so getting to 5 making five versus 3NT making four is not a horrible disaster. So, I would pull out 2NT and then rebid over partner's response, showing the game forcing hand with slam ambition. The other option, should I feel the need, is a leap to 3 here as a splinter bid, with big fit. This gets us to 3NT from the right side should I decide I really don't want to express the strong slam ambition.

I know a lot of people play the jump to 3 here as preemptive, but really, when do you ever have such a hand? I use 2 over dbl as fit jump, 3 as splinter.

I am afraid in standard (without conventional raises agreed), the right bid is... Rdbl (Triple Yuck, not my fault.....)

Of course it does, but here it is only raised with 4 cards, and 1 is forcing ;).

"Of course it does, but here it is only raised with 4 cards, and 1♥ is forcing "

Who says? Why won't partner raise with a shapely hand and 3H? Anyway 1H is out of the equation as I don't believe in masterminding and informing partner of suits I don't have.

I bid 3S if this is agreed as a splinter, else 2NT as a limit raise plus.

How much more of the world's habitat and food supply for animals do we plan on destroying. How many more wetlands are we going to drain, fill, and build on? How many more sand dunes are we going to knock down in the interests of high-rise hotels or luxury homes?

3 spades - splinter. Otherwise, whatever partnership has agreed on as limit raise or better---weak 2nd choice.
