I would. Our own honours are placed about as perfectly as they could be on the bidding. Also if P has either top H honour, we might be scoring badly against anyone who found 6N anyway - and if he doesn't then our values will be working even better together.

Ignoring the EW hands (is it worth posting them? It makes the post harder to read, and they're not really relevant to our decision), I imagine I'd have bid the same as South up to his pass. North's jump to 6♦ seems pushy, but maybe is right at MPs.

My imagination is lacking and I cannot readily conceive of a hand consistent with 2d followed by 6d that will have no play for 7 here and I would expect 7 to be a walk in the park.

This looks like a textbook case for a Grand Slam force. Assuming that 4♥ is a cuebid agreeing diamonds, North bids 5NT. Then South with 2 top honours bids 7. Am I right?

I'm bidding 7 ♦ here also. Yes, you have shown a big hand, ♥ control, and ♦ fit with your 4 ♥ bid. But partner can't specifically know that you hold both the other side suit 1st round controls and all the solidifying cards in the trump suit.

Partner certainly has to have the ♦ A as otherwise the 6 ♦ bid would have been made on ♦ Jxxx(...) which is illogical.

If 7 ♦ perchance goes down, then maybe you need to have a conversation with your partner about the jump to 6 ♦.

The key here is the undisclosed values that partner cannot by bridge logic know that you hold. If partner had used RKCB or other key card asking method and bid 6 ♦, then you should pass.

This isn't a good hand for gsf because:

1. We don't play it.
2. It isn't 100% certain that 4 hearts is only diamonds, clubs could still be in play, so 5nt might well be pick a slam.
3. We don't need partner to have kq for 7. 3 card support, even including 3 small, makes 7 a narrow favorite. Kxx makes trumps have no losers 100% of the time. Stiff k would be good enough >50% of the time. Kx is enough for no trump losers 95% of the time. Qx 50%. So if 4 hearts does promise diamond support (at least 3), our trumps are already usually playable for no losers.

Although the hand of North (courtesly a diagram is welcome) has more extras among longness in trump suit, void in club and also QJ in spade and, let's say that N try to bid 2♦ (instead a forcing 3♦) intending to stay low in bidding for jumping subsequently but doesn't so show its 8th suit. Than starting by 4♥ that it being cue in opp suit is RKB for diamond the answere should be 5♣ meaning 2A w/o Q or 1A+void w/o Q and an eventual 5♠ by S sures all keys and Q and calls for Q in spade and N could show with 6♣ its void and willing by partnership to get in grand ( indicating no losers in heart suit).(Lovera)

7 spades isn't so hot on heart acts lead as you have to ruff in the hand with 4 trumps, so you go down when spades don't break 3-3.

What would the two of you rebid with a diamond fit, extras and no heart control? How about a club one-suiter just short of a 2♣ opening? You have to be able to cope with (at least) both of these hand types elsewhere before you can consider using 4♥ the way you suggest and I think the OP would have mentioned it if such agreements were in place.
