Even assuming my X shows spades (which it should definitely NOT), he shouldn't try to bid them, especially if the opps apparently also have 9 spades between them! A double fit in an unusual sense (both sides have a fit in the same suit).

... and I can prove it with my usual, flawless logic.

Gib plays support doubles, so double shows 3♥. Why Gib insists on playing in opponent suit with 4 small ♠ is truly bizarre.

Traditional support doubles only apply if the auction is still below 2 of partner's major. So up to 2♦ if partner responded in hearts, up to 2♥ if partner responded in spades. The idea is distinguishing between the double and the actual raise to the 2 level. Auto-doubling with 3 card support when it's higher than 2 of your side's major is more dubious, mainly because there may not be 3 level safety when the only guaranteed fit is a 4-3 one, and also you may want to use the double for other purposes. Double here for most people is not support, but just a good hand without 4+ trump support, more of a DSIP double.

I don't know what's traditional, but Stephen has explained how GIB plays support doubles.

Here is GIB's explanation of the double, such as it is, from an older version of GIB...

I guess whatever was updated was not an improvement.

It appears that over 2♠, GIB wants South to pass, since he has neither the 4 hearts required to raise nor the 17 points required to do other things.

I mean sure he wants me to pass but as I said in the other thread, sometimes competing shows 19 hcp but GIB 'understands' that I could be stretching and sometimes it hangs me (and sometimes it stabs me, sets me on fire, kills all my children, waterboards me, and only then hangs me). But more to the point, GIB should never jump to game in a suit he thinks I was trying to penalise. It really makes no sense.

In my opinion you (and everyone here) would do well to take Stephen's comments about bidding conventions as being correct unless you can specifically argue otherwise. His comments are very knowledgeable. I have good solid knowledge in that area as well, but he is, I believe, currently active in live tournaments while I haven't played in one for seven years.

I am wondering why all of gwnn's bids have no explanations,I found it is easy to happen some accident in this situation.
If it is incorrect for what I said, here accident should be a bug.never others.

My last ACBL masterpoint was earned in 1996. I definitely trust Stephen's explanation of what are common and optimal ways of playing. I was just adding the statement "and this is the way GIB does it", which isn't always consistent with what is common and optimal, and which he didn't explicitly state in his explanation.
