Does my sacrifice 5 promise 24+ hcp?
And after double,Gib N bid up to 7 at all hazards.

5 shows a good hand. Basic principle of "don't bid the same values twice". Or in this case...don't lie about the values you didn't have the first time a second time.

North voluntarily bid 4; this should show some values. 5 doesn't show a desire to play at that level opposite nothing.

5 should show a better hand than what South actually has, but it certainly shouldn't require 24+ HCP!

North has to bid more than 4 IMO, it's way too good for 4. Should bid 3 showing a good hand with good fit along the way to 5 IMO.

The problem starts with the 4 bid that seems to require only 3+ clubs.

North should have bid 5 straight away- no aces in the majors and 5 clubs limits its level.

I agree. Or if not that, certainly 5C. One thing the the programmers need to do immediately is stop GIB from bidding on after having been doubled for penalty. Let it redouble 5C if it is so confident.

This all said Lycier, you are not new with GIB. You should have known you can't bid 5C with this hand.

Well I agree, 2NT is not good, but if he had kept quiet the rest of the way, he might have gotten away with it. 5C was suicidal

I this bidding all the around :D I think GIB would be better off if the game in hand (ie 24+ descriptions) were totally eliminated unless you open 2, or double, cue bid, and then bid game by yourself or something like that. It is almost always ridiculous to assume in a competitive auction that a player that bids game has 24+

The bidding up to 5C is worthy of criticism but that does not excuse the subsequent actions.
Psych (pron. saik): A gross and deliberate misstatement of honour strength and/or suit length. Expressly permitted under Law 73E but forbidden contrary to that law by Acol club tourneys.

Psyche (pron. sahy-kee): The human soul, spirit or mind (derived, personification thereof, beloved of Eros, Greek myth).
Masterminding (pron. mPosted ImagesPosted ImagetPosted Imager-mPosted ImagendPosted Imageing) tr. v. - Any bid made by bridge player with which partner disagrees.

"Gentlemen, when the barrage lifts." 9th battalion, King's own Yorkshire light infantry,
2000 years earlier: "morituri te salutant"

"I will be with you, whatever". Blair to Bush, precursor to invasion of Iraq

I agree.
I have to say that I don't care about winning or losing.
In order to find problem,I should provide its example hand.

LHO showed a limit raise so this is obviously a sac. I think a 6th club is plenty, it doesn't show extra HCPs.

Best I can tell, GIB will sometimes decide to sac, but will never think his partner is doing so.
