Lead: CA


An interesting hand from an invisible broadcast from England last night. North opened 1♠, 2♥ from South, 3♥ rebid, raised to 4. West doubled, led ♣A and continued the suit to East's queen.

♣K from East at trick 3, you ruff with the 8 and West discards a spade.

Can you take advantage of West's insulting double? What is your plan?

I assume W has ♦A + 5 remaining trumps and at lest 3♠ so I play ♦ to the K and I will finish on a cross ruff even if W return trump after winning the ♦A

So 5♥ from hand + 2 ruffs + 1♦ + 2♠ = 10 tricks :)

Small to ♦K is the best imo, you combine your chances :) and you create an entry while you still have control in trumps

West seems to be strong, and East showed KQ of ♣. This means that Ace of ♦ has to be with West. So if East holds 5♠ and i can't take 5♥ and 5♠ to go home. I can play small ♦ to the K to make my 10th trick.
If West does not hold 5♥ there is no Problem at all.
