The auction didn't state what some of the bids meant, so let's ask before we get a lot of different replies.
! assume 2♣ was "any one suited hand".? Was that bid alerted?
I am unsure what double of 2♣ meant despite looking at the hand held. IT surely wasn't "stolen bid" meaning stayman by north or was it "I got clubs".
Was East's redouble alerted? I am thinking that the redouble might mean if your suit is clubs, lets play 2♣xx, but I am unsure.
Passing the redouble with South's hand says your willing to stick it out in 2♣xx but of course, the meaning might vary depending upon what all the other bids mean
Before we can assess what should happened over 2♠, having answers to the other questions seem required. But with North's hand over 2♠ if I was at all confused I would blast 3NT. The pass might have been hoping for a penalty double by south, but the way I play it a double by south would have been takeout.
There are other options for how the auction could go after 2♣, north could bid transfer to diamonds. However on this hand, South's actions are probably irrelevant, with such a good diamond suit, with a spade suit that looks as good as AK on the bidding rather than AQ, I think North just has to make the practical bid of 3NT over 2♠.
Ah, I see this was a robot question, I didn't realize what forum this was in.... Ok, North's double then was stayman, redouble was whatever it was. I still "blame" north not for bidding on, but robots will be robots. I seldom to never play with robots as partners, so I am not the best to suggest what to do here. I guess since you know that partner has some values for it's bid, you need to do something over 2
♠. I don't have the guts to bid 2NT, but I would try a bashful double, with the robot knowing I don't have 4
♥.
@Bbradley62, Thanks, glad to be anywhere other than ICU
