Actually 3 is a best contract for GIB,but I wonder why GIB rebid 3 as final contract?

W apparently found himself too strong to pass but I wonder why he chose 3 instead of 3. Maybe 3 is systematically weak? Or maybe lots of hands with a singleton diamonds came up in the sims?
The world would be such a happy place, if only everyone played Acol :) --- TramTicket

I dislike the suit lengths shown by all of the calls.

- initial 2 call should show 5+ spades. IMO Capp is unplayable showing only 4 in the major, and GIB has played Capp this way for years. Responder needs to be able to pass with hands with a doubleton in the major with some confidence that their side won't end up in a silly 4-2. 2M in a 5-2 is often the best spot, it can often drive the opening side higher and is just safer. Venturing to the 3-level for a possible 4-3 fit is just way too dangerous when a known 5-2 major fit is available a level lower.

- 3 should not show 5+ clubs, 2nt was forcing, and Capp doesn't promise 5-5. At this point it should be 5 spades, 4+ clubs.

- new suit by 2nt bidder should show 5+ in the suit, and be forcing if UPH. I suppose it can show minor fit + max by passed hand.
