It would have worked out a lot better for me had I opened 1N. I devalued the Heart holding. I didn't it expect it to have quite such a spectacularly disastrous effect.
My past experience with GIB suggests that the 1S rebid is consistent with a 4-3-3-3 hand with 4 Spades and 12 HCP. I dislike the style, but I don't get to choose it (actually I normally rebid 1N with such hands but don't tell GIB that).
Anyway, that being the case, is 3C by North reasonable?
