I think the auction is reasonable, just the explanations are crazy. 3S is normally asking for a stop for NT or a slam try, then after 4S (which should show a massive club hand with slam interest??) it can go to slam in clubs. I can see how you got completely confused by the 3S showing lots of spades but you might have guessed something was wrong when opponents have both bid spades, and hence passed 5C.

Uh, guys, you did notice it was lycier who made the 3 bid? It's not the best solution for a system bid (how often do people psych there?) but given what it showed, I thought GIB (south) bid well.
