1st hand - Bidding 2♥ makes it easier for East-West to diagnose a heart shortage.
2nd hand - I assume that 2♣ is a psychic bid in the GIB system. I'll bet GIB didn't expect you to do that either.

I had one GIB overcall 3C over my 2C opening with something like ♣Q10xxxx ♦Qxx ♥x ♠xx, my partner GIB bid 3♦, and his GIB partner raised to 4C and which point I, holding 28HCP including ♣AK, just jumped to 7NT - it romped in once I guessed to cash the ace of diamonds in hand. The vulnerability was red just like this hand so its hard understand is this the same GIBs (mine was in video bridge so I believe basic GIB).
