After 4♣ showed splinter raise,GIB didn't cuebid 4♦ but 4♥ conservatively,so I have to say GIB don't know how to evaluate the hand holding after splinter raise,GIB isn't a good slam bidder !

GIB will not cue bid anything less than a first round control, even below game (unless it has already previously denied a first round control in the suit). Personally I agree that this is a weakness in GIB's system, particularly when there is only one co-operative bid that it can make below game.

That said, I would have said that it is borderline whether North should give too much encouragement given his wasted ♣K. Should it encourage with, say
♠x
♥J9765
♦KJ72
♣872
?

I don't know the answer. There may be some attraction to 4♦ but if that is not allowed I don't think that I would venture to the 5 level on my own.

You have like the perfect hand. You could have your diamonds and spades switched, then it has to find the DQ. You could have SK instead of HK. You could be off an additional ace. All these hands would bid the same way. I would focus on GIB's more egregious errors, not fine judgment decisions, especially ones like this which are probably right!

If asked to assign the blame, I would give North 0%.

If your decision is very right,I will never play splinter since past experience has taught me that all my splinter bids with slammish always get almost 100% unsuccessful results ! Why? can you tell the reasons in details?

I agree that GIB in general doesn't know how to evaluate very well and properly continue the auction after splinter bids. I'm just saying that using this particular deal as your example is arguably a poor choice, as I think most human experts would also sign off with the north hand after a splinter.

Opposite good human partners, splinter bids work quite well, but still aren't going to get you to every perfecto slam. Opposite GIB, at this point they don't work very well because of imprecisely defined rules for telling GIB when to cue bid or not, on top of GIB's tendency to only want to cue bid aces.
