I am constantly amazed at GIB's opening leads. Here is one that defies explanation.

GIB holds:

9862
52
J642
985

The auction, with GIB in second seat, no one vul:

(1♥) - P - (1♠) - 2♦
(X) - P - (3♣) - P
(4♥) - All Pass

Pretty easy opening lead? Apparently not. GIB led the ♣5! So, instead of winning the first 2 diamonds, the result is -510.
