That would be because it badly uses a malformed version of the law of total tricks- it has to raise two levels with 4 trumps. Obviously your hand could have been better the J♥ is a waste of HCP better to have the A♣ than K♣.

have to say that while I have some sympathy with OP I can also construct reasonable 4S hands which would not accept. It depends in part on the full def of 2S. In my experience a lot of the stated definitions are a bit abridged.
