Seems normal to play AK of clubs and plan to ruff with the J. Playing a low club off dummy is bad since when clubs are 4-2, you are going down to a club ruff whenever the hand with 4 clubs also has the DA.

Seems like this is playing for clubs 3-3 or diamonds 3-3. An alternate line is to just pull trumps and then lead a club up, trying for clubs 3-3 or the queen onside. The latter actually seems a bit better to me...

Yeah you also make on a layout where either hand has something like QJx QJxx A98x Qx, they cannot profitably ruff either club.
