We all read about ducking a finesse.
But often at the table we don't.
When did you duck in 4th seat and win or even more important lose......AS you try to win?
In other words I hope good players talk about how they ducked and still lost .....so we may learn.
--
I say this as I just played a tm where both tables failed to duck and not beat 3nt
I made it but thought duck by 4th hand was so clear....so clear....AS dummy hand zero hand no entry outside of long suit.

I ducked Kx over dummy's AQJxxxx in 3N, declarer did have xx, unfortunately she'd misbid by about 4 points, and had no convenient entry back to hand, oops.

I rarely duck fineses from declarer since I am scared partner has a complementary honnor. Some players are unaware of this and incorrectly finese playing the jack from AQJ or the 10 from AJ10.
Ducking when dummy has KQ or AQJ is routine, a standard play, like ducking the lead when they lead a suit where you have Ax, or xx towards Axxx. Something you should learn to do by default, but consider winning as an alternative.
About duckng declaer I remember 2:
I ducked a finese by declarer, didn't really mater much except because declarer went to dummy to repeat it, using her last stopper on our suit. She questioned if ducking the finese was not cheating.
On the world championship in Lille declarer played 3NT, and instantly played a spade to the King after winnng the lead in dummy. I won the ace and struggled 4 minutes to find a switch, while I was thinking all the time: you are so stupid stupid, you have no clue what to play now, you should had ducked the ace. In the end I went ultra agressive and opened hearts from ♥Axx. Partner had ♥KQxxx and ♠Q. Had I ducked ♠K it would had been the 9th trick. Whatever I switched to didn't matter except for the extra undertricks.

I remember the first time I ducked with AJx over dummy's KQT. Later declarer led another up and started tanking .. after about 10-15 seconds I tell him "I have them both" he says "off one, well done" and starts putting the cards back in the board. One of my favorite bridge memories, although it seems ordinary in retrospect.
Life is long and beautiful, if bad things happen, good things will follow.
