You had to be careful here, or you could go down!
LHO had 2506 and RHO 2461, playing a diamond prematurelly gets you down if you didn't draw any trumps or get rid of heart comunication. If you did, you also had to be careful and avoid covering ♦10 on second round of the suit, scoring ♦KQ on the end.

Perhaps I've missed something, but if I carelessly play ♥A then ♦J, I can't see why I would go down in 4♠.
If RHO withholds his ace and LHO takes two ruffs, they can't draw any of my trumps, so I make nine trumps and a heart. If they take ♦A and one ruff, then play back a trump, I get eight trumps, a diamond and a ruff.
