IMPS. N/S were definitely not vulnerable, don't know about West/East.

Diamonds makes 6-8 tricks, Spades makes 7-9. Both of these contracts are extremely difficult.

Do you agree with all the bids? What was the worst bid made?

I think the main error was North passing over DBL and not bidding 2, he had no excuse not to bid it imo, he is coming from pass and auction obviously tells he can't have much for 2 bid, this would definetely make south gear down and probably NS would end up defending 3 if not 4 doubled. South is not blameless either for the last call 4, after all his pd passed 1. Imo.

No doubt 4 is the worst bid. You are doubled for penalty in 3. Your LHO lets you off the hook by going back to diamonds (where you have excellent defense) and you bid your spades again?!?

This is advertising: "Masochist seeks partner".

It seems like West made a serious error. He could have added 300 points to the score by pulling to 5. This South would certainly have bid 5. ;)

4 is ridicoulous, even if the opponents didn't double you in 3 already wich is definetelly the most important sign, defending a partscore with a game is already nonsense.

Don't like:

-North's pass of 1X (see Timo's post)
-East's bid of 2, 1NT is a better contract specially at MPs
-West's bid of 4, removing a penalty double is a bad idea in general, here I see nothing special.

This is int. stuff? Sorry, don't think so, this is beginner bidding at all sides of the table...

It is fairly basic:

4 was beyond words,4 and the penalty double of 3 horrible and I dislike 3 and the pass from north and 2 from East.
Kind Regards

I agree with above posters about 4, i didnt even see that 3 was doubled. I agree with Codo that auction was crazy after first DBL.

Reminds me of the post where it went

1N-2H-x-3H
x-4H-x-a.p.

down 1, all 3 doubles were for penalty :)
... and I can prove it with my usual, flawless logic.

Agree, but I don't see where anything was said about international? If that is what you mean by "int. stuff"

I suspect BBO experts <_<

I agree with all the bids up to West's double. I agree with all the bids after South's 4. Not sure there are many bids in between that I can agree with...

- North should bid 2.
- East shoud bid 1N not 2.
- South should bid 2 not 2.
- 3 is bad.
- 4 is worse, certainly the worst call of the auction...
- ...except that then there comes 4... You aren't expecting to make 4, and you have A LOT OF defense against 4.

I approve of the first 5 bids and the final double.

That leaves 13 that are anywhere from stretching to insane but to avoid a migraine I'll give them 7.69% each.
