So how do you guys make a difference between invitational in ♥ or just to play?
For me it's invitational in ♥...

Just upgrade or downgrade to bid 3H or 4H. I dont think in this sequence it is that important to distinguish them

For me its takeout double, 2/3 cards in heart, 4-5 cards in clubs.
The idea to play this as something else looks good to me, but i need a specific rule or else i will have a misunderstanding with my partners, and understanding comes before whats best thoretically.

Maximal dbl? No. 1) No suit established and 2) 2H is too unlimited
Snapdragon dbl (tolerance for hearts & 5 of unbid suit)? No, even if playing Snapdragon. With clubs, overcaller is forced to bid 4C. Advancer would have taken action over 1S if advancer were that strong or that distributional.
If advancer has a heart fit, advancer can bid 3H or 4H, so advancer does not have a heart fit.
So logically, this dbl is penalty. Which also fits nicely with the rule: Once partner has bid, dbls are either conventional or penalty. Since there is no defined conventional dbl, it must be penalty.
A penalty dbl of 3D, nothing more, nothing less. If responder bids 3S, overcaller can X with 4 good spades.

If you have such a rule its great, my rule is all double are t.o except specific squences we discussed as penalty for example after we have supported (when its not max dbl)
