Having used the old version of BBO.to which i am very comfortable with.
and initially did not like the new Version.I was forced but appreciative
to Listen to the live commentaries most proffesionaly done with
"Roland" at the helm..such wit and repartee that flows,"Hilarious"
but all in good fun and entertainment, such valuable tips
also ensue..but on to serious matters.... when i did use recently the
new version,I noticed beside ones name sometimes there is a number encircled
in RED.having now found out this is awarded to ACBL members to reward them
for the skill's they have displayed...Now myself as an impoverished pensioner,
but equally skilled and being a humble BBO player.can obtain no recognition.
MY SUGGESTION IS CAN Fred G organise numbers say in Red/yellow circle.
without upsetting ACBL.and have a contest Anually {Ryder/Buffet/Cavendish}
competition ACBL/BBO.............. regards any seconders?

BBO points aren't specific to the ACBL. Non-ACBLers can also win BBO points.

"Serious" competitions have been seemingly successful on BBO, so that's not out of the question, but comparing them to the Ryder Cup or Cavendish, except in the sense that they're by invitation only or something, seems wrong.

my apologies.You get BBO points if one enters Cash Events.and the Competition,
is not by invitation.its by the number of points obtained,makes one eligable,
with a cut off point.I am now referring to the Freebie competitors.
so with your input ACBL/BBO Cash/BBO Freebies.a TRIPARD annual event.

Well, I fail to see why such an event would be attractive other than that it would perhaps be more serious than the other free tournaments available to everyone, but maybe I'm missing the intended goal.

We did 2 "Geo" style tournaments, pitting Europe vs North America (USA/Canada) vs the "World" (rest of the world) last year.
Europe and World each won once, but the points format was not ryder style.

We did a cross country kind of scoring, not sure what the name was. Add up ranks of top few finishers, lowest total wins.

A month-long event with a big prize by the Sports Accord people is coming up in September. Maybe that will satisfy your craving.
