was this a sensible bid ?

(opinions before you see how many I went down, please don't look at the hand in myhands before you comment LOL)

what result do you think I was aiming for when I made this bid?

what defence over NT would have got me to the best place for this hand?

what is the best defence over NT in your opinion ? ( and why do you like it)

4 is fine.

Some people have a real anathema about preempting over a 1N opening. No problem for me.

Yes, I would've done it as well. As it turns out you have 4 laydown tnx to A.
Dbl is ridiculous... If there's someone who can Dbl, it's South, not North.

what result do you think I was aiming for when I made this bid?

Aiming for -2 maximum imo, hope to get something from partner and you have a huge chance to make it.

what defence over NT would have got me to the best place for this hand?

Any defense gets you to 4 imo. Just bid it ;)

Meckwell against strong NT!
Multi-landy or Cappeletti against weak NT.

Cappelletti is awful. The only reason it is still played is because it's the same vs strong or weak NT, and people are too lazy to bother using different methods for both cases, lol.

1 off to making

Just bidding 4S

Variants of Aspro/Asptro. Why - gives you good chances to get into the auction. Most defences except for Cappelletti have at least some merit.

Good bid? Certanly!

North's double is impossible.

I prefer Woolsey over strong notrump, also like lionel (aka astro-grano)
Please note: I am interested in boring, bog standard, 2/1.

Suction isn't GCC legal, but neither is the 2 call in Woolsey for that matter.

ok, that means i can't play it in any acbl tourney... is it true that any defense over 1nt is legal IF at least one suit is known?

Woolsey has more to do that the 2 overcall is ambiguous. If you swap 2 and 2, you can play it, since there are no restrictions on 2 and double.

Suction is illegal on many fronts, but District 23 allows it for some reason.
