Today I was to set a team match for members of the BBO_IAC club. Unfortunately I did it wrongly the first time and it ended up with the opps being our own teammates. It would have been easy to fix but I couldn't cancel the table. I don't want to go into all that followed except to say it took at least a half hour to get things sorted out. 2 players couln't stay due to the lateness and spares had to be found. I had to get onoway to cancel the table as I couldn't do it myself. If I understood her correctly in order to be a director of the match for those on the web version she has to get the assistance of a yellow. That is because there is no place to enter the name of a director as I think the table defaults to the setter of the match to be director.

Is there something I could have done? I am using the web version.

Presuming you were the director, go to the Director tab (below Who's Online and My Results) and there is a drop-down menu for the tournament (team match) that has "Show Tables" as the first option. You may not have realised that this is a drop-down menu but it includes a "Cancel Tournament" option that you should have been able to cancel the team match with.

Also on this drop-down menu is "Edit tournament". This option permits you to enter additional directors.

Thanks very much. I have now found the proper tab. I appreciate the reply.

I forgot to add that you can practise this on your own (as you probably discovered). Start a team match with yourself as the only player, something that you can do on the web client but not the Windows client., and then you can cancel it and/or add directors. You can add me, if online, or I expect any of the forum posters would help if no friends are available.

Paul I am so appreciative of your reply! I have been struggling with this for over a year as I was given to understand there was no solution. Maybe this is a development which happened later. Well done Sally to think to post this in the forums and thanks so much Paul for your help. It will save me having to pester Yellows to add me as a director all the time. Your response is like a Christmas present!
