As a result of recent complaints by several members regarding poor Handviewer performance in Forums (especially on mobile devices), I took a closer look at this problem and I believe I have found a way to significantly speed up the relevant program (as far as I can tell it is about 4 times as fast as it used to be for most types of diagrams).

In theory the speed improvements should be retroactive. By this I mean that any existing web pages that user Handviewer should automatically render more quickly now.

The Handviewer editor still doesn't work very well in Forums on my iPad, but this is appears to be an HTML problem (as opposed to a problem in Handviewer itself). I will try to get the relevant person on our staff to take a look at this before too long.

Feedback is welcome of course.

Did you do anything about the problem where some bid explanations get cut off, which seems to depend on whether the hand was saved from the old or new BBO version?

Much much much much much faster on the mobile. Although some of the bidding now gets cut off if more than one hand is posted.

Thanks for the good news regarding speed.

If you can provide me with a link to a post where the bidding gets cut off, let me know if it is getting cut off horizontally or vertically, and let me know what sort of mobile device you are using, I can hopefully fix it.

On my mobile (Samsung Galaxy Ace, working on Android) the cut off is whatever South bids. I can see that it says 1 something, just not sure what.

Thanks. Can you please try changing the orientation of the table (ie from landscape to portrait and back a few times) and let me know if the problem corrects itself?

I would also be interested in knowing which browser you are using and, if you have easy access to another browser, if the same thing happens.
