How many total points does North have?

In addition to the total points question, I think Souths who open 1♦ then deny 4432 distribution should be understood to have at least 4 diamonds.

This North says he has 10+ total points in a no trump sequence.


This North says he has 10+HCP


This North says he has 6-8 total points when showing support for partner's opened suit. If North figures out that 1NT shows four diamonds, should he bid 3♦ directly over 2♠?

Definitely seems backwards -- it's adding points for shortness in the NT auction, but no in the suit auction.
