I agree that 3 should show 4+S; 10-12 total points. I also agree with North's bidding. I don't know how to reconcile the two. :(


But, it's interesting that North invites opposite the minimum opening but not opposite the NT opening. Or should I have bid something other than 2?

In the first auction, it thinks it has a 10-card spade fit. In the second, South could have as little as 2-card support, and West's overcall suggests that there may be bad splits.
