IMPs
1D could be 3 cards if opener is 4432 12-14hcp

What is your general plan?

If you start with a double what would you then bid if partner responded 1H or 1S?

Would it make any difference if 1D guaranteed 4?

Do you not play a natural 2NT in 4th seat, Don?

Yes, 2NT in 4th would be natural... but I guess that stiff J scared me, or maybe it repressed any consideration of it.

My thinking is that 2C won't be passed out.

Resulting from about 20 years ago when, in my alledged judgement, the other table would get in trouble. We could make a couple clubs, but wouldn't have been able to find it.

Gained a boatload of IMPS by passing. It was wrong then (but it worked), and is wrong now. But.....Opener had J4th of diamonds and pard was 4-5-2-2

Wow...

I saw there were auctions starting (1C)-P-(P) and (1D)-P-(1S), but not heard of any with a 1S from partner :)

gonna make a happy pass. Pard seems to have majors and is so weak he didn't even bid 1M or michaels.
