My partner lead ♥9, low and low to the Ace. South played ♦9 (covered by the 10) to his King, which was taken by my Ace. Now I played ♦7 and I made that trick. So I played ♥K and small ♥, where declarer discarded his last ♦ and my partner ruffed with his ♣2. Now he played ♦Q and this was the situation:

I ruffed with my ♣10, overruffed by declarer's J. Now declarer played ♣9 and my partner took his Q, and continued with his last ♦ which I ruffed with my ♣8 and got overruffed again.

Remark: I know the bidding wasn't great, but it's just a remarkable hand imo...

Nicely defended.

But the 3♣ bid vulnerable opposite a passed partner on a weak suit and with most of the points in RHO's suits must rank as one of the worst bids I ever seen!

I agree with Eric. What a difference a little experience would make opposite this 2♥ opening bid. West couldn't open (I assume a moscito thingee), and EAST is weak. South is reasoanble short is hearts and has support for other three suits. 3♣ would have never occurred to me, but pass or takeout double, including chace to play in spades, would have.

Over DBL, WEST will correct. If he corrects to 2NT there is a reasonable shot at that, but likely down at least one on diamond lead. If he corrects to 2♠, too bad for him. 2♠ doubled on a club lead will not be a happy contract. Club loses to Queen. When south gets in (he or sp), Cllub King to ace, ruff, and south gets back in, and cashes a club. That is 1C, 1C ruff, 1H, 3S at the very least.
