i have noticed this occurence several times

where gib doesnt play the card that should be played.
take for example 2 rounds of hearts have been played

a7
k6

5

south plays the 6 west plays k north plays the 7
east pitches, when It does this it is always on a hand
of no consequence where there is still all winners in decalres hand,
it just doesnt seem right???

last time i saw it was in a 6nt
where north had

k8 clubs left and east had 97, and played the 9 on the k setting up the 8,
it turned out that east was getting squeezed, but i guess all 3 gibs at the table knew this,
i only noticed this when i went back to see how other people played this particular hand.
so GIB progammers just curious.

GIB plays its cards in random order if it thinks it doesn't matter.

BTW, you wrote "south plays the 6 west plays k". Am I misreading your post, or doesn't the West have K6? It would be easier if you posted a real hand diagram (click on the "Spade" icon to bring up the Hand Editor), instead of putting the cards in text.

meant to say south played 5 west played King and north played card that let king be good, i cant quite by the line that GIB just plays random cards when it doesnt matter....oh did try to use the hand editor but for some reason i always hit a wrong button and it aborts so tried to do the diagram and space it out but it took out all the spaces and tabs in just put them in a line, didnt want to enter the whole hand

GIB's random order has been mentioned in a number of other threads, often in response to my claim that GIB seems to give count.

I've seen it waste a 10 because it didn't think it mattered. A big problem is that GIB isn't very good at figuring out what matters. If a card can be dropped or finessed, GIB assumes you're going to do that, because it bases its play and defense on double dummy analysis.
