How would the bidding go when you play against yourself? Would you find the 6♠ in EW? Or would you find it and go down?

How would the bidding go when you play against yourself? Would you find the 6♠ in EW? Or would you find it and go down?

I might find it - depends on how frisky West was feeling 
Bidding would be:
1NT(10-13)-2NT(minors)-3H(xfer)-P(whew!)-3S-P-4S(slam interest, otherwise Texas)-P-now what did I have for breakfast?
As to the play, it's late here, but it looks like it makes with two diamond ruffs after the CK lead.

I fairly sure that I will not be able to bid slam, and i am certain that i would not make it if i bid it (unless south leads a heart).
For me to bid slam, east has to take two aggressive bids (3S, and 4H below), and opener has to not give up in 4S over 4H. I really think the bidding will stop at 4S, but here is my auction that reachs slam..... As west I will open, and since I open a club, I asume north passes.
1S-(Pass)-1S-(Pass)
1N-(Pass)-2D-(Pass)
2S-(Pass)-3S-(Pass)
4D-(Pass)-4H-(Pass)
4N-(Pass)-5D-(Pass)
5H-(Pass)-6S-(all pass)
Notes:
2D = xyz, 100% game force
2S = three card suport
3S = slam try
4D = use serious 3NT desipite 1NT response, so 4D shows weak 1NT rebid, and first or second round control of diamonds, no first or 2nd round club control
4H = LTTC, promises club control, and still slam interest despite openers 4D (weak) cue-bid.
4NT = RKCB
5D = 3 keycards
5H = trump queen?
6S = enough.
I can not make this slam playing against me, because i will not make a defensive mistake.

i can't see coming close to bidding a slam, against decent ops... like peter, i'd open 1nt and i have no double north would bid something... if he doesn't, maybe

1N 2D(gameforcing checkback)
2S 3D(natural)
3H(cue) 4C(nonserious cuebid)
4D(if I feel aggressive) 4H(last train)
4S(I should sign off here since I have stretched a little bit)
The difference between passing and bidding on is only about one card, spade jack. trump jack is often the key to distinguish a good slam and a bad one. When you hold it, you usually feel more secure, which is especially true for 8 card trump fit.
