Double now is explained as: 5+ D; 2+ S; 17- HCP; forcing to 3N

This is ridiculous. First of all, why need it show 2+ spades if it's forcing to 3N? Or is "forcing to 3N" secret GIB language for "penalty double"?

Secondly, this double should actually show 4 hearts, and nothing else.

(Incidentally, 1NT is explained with "likely stop in C". If anything, it should show a spade stopper more than a club stopper.)

I agree that the 1NT bid should show a S stop. The 1NT explanation also includes "8+ HCP; 15- total points", which I think is too big a range.

A 3♦ rebid by south is explained as "6+D; 15-16 total points". I think this is too small a range; many players would make this competitive bid with a weaker hand than that.

Does gib play lebensohl in this sequence? That would explain the tight range for 3!d.

That's a good question for the developers, since we can't tell by looking at the other tables. Of the 7 Souths who had to bid over 2♠ in this sequence, 4 chose 3♦ despite the description, 2 passed (likely scared off by the description of 3♦), and 1 reversed to 3♥.
