1S or 2S are both reasonable, what I would choose at the table depends on mood, the sun and the stars.

I think there are very few hands which I would open 1S, but preemptively jump to 2S when righty opens in front of me, even if partner is a passed hand. This is a six LTC opening bid, IMO. A 1S overcall does not misrepresent the strength or suit length. 3S would misrepresent both.

1♠ would be my choice but I'm sure 2♠ is quite a possibility. I think my hand is not that bad, if I get my partner to support me showing a limit hand I like my odds at game. 2♠ has the vulnerability in its favor, though.

I guess I would bid 1♠ - keep all options open. 2♠ is not silly, I just like to be more 1-suited for that.

I seem to have a 6 card spade suit with good spots, good shape, and 6 to 10 high card points. Bridge is an easy game sometimes.

I'm not sure why you mention that, Wayne... surely you must realise that playing intermediate jumps NV with a passed partner is far from mainstream?

With a passed partner I'll bid 2♠, otherwise 1♠. Game is far away with a passed partner, so I prefer to be a bit more preemptive here. No reason to overbid to 3♠ either, we have a decent hand.

I'd open a weak 2 with this hand most of the time.

Once partner passes, I have more reason to preempt, not less.
