Perhaps this is not an interesting hand, but there are certainly a lot of imps at stake. You hold a balanced 0-count, as always, and the above auction unfurls. 1C promised 4 (acol). 3D was a fit-jump. 5H was a cue, and 5S was a sign-off, apparently.
You to lead.

I wonder why the suits were ordered so in the poll...

Also, he rates to not have a heart void when he leads the 3.

It's either a passive trump or an active club (certainly not diamonds and pard didn't dbl 5). Since LHO went on despite a sign-off, he might have an ace out. Club then.

Insta-. No way he is missing first round control in clubs for his leap.

Or did he level me? Poker is a subset of bridge, Rosenberg says.

hard to believe they're missing first round control anywhere. If they are, its in a red suit, so I'm leading red. Toss up from there. I'll be different and lead a diamond.

Note that the opponents just had a nonsense-auction. It makes no sense to make a 5 cuebid and then jump to grand opposite a sign-off. So 5 then 7 smells really bad. Combined with the fit jump, dummy has pretty much advertised a spade-diamond twosuiter. It's not a toss-up between the reds. If he is gambling without a first round control in hearts or clubs it is probably lacking in hearts. Perhaps lho is even encouraged by the non-double of 5. But again, lho might have outleveled me.

LHO had solid diamonds, good spades, a heart void and Kxx of clubs. Partner had the club Ace. I didn't lead a club, and our trick vanished (RHO had the Q). Glad I'm not the only one fooled!

These opponents bid at my level, so obviously I got it right. Obviously advancer has really good diamonds. Then he cuebid his first round heart control. When partner didn't cooperate he thought for a while, concluded that bridge was too difficult, crossed his fingers and bid the grand.

Lead a club.
Please note: I am interested in boring, bog standard, 2/1.
