Background:
- Been using BBO for several years
- Recently upgraded to Windows 7 64 bit
- Use BBO v5.2.6
- Do not wish to use BBO browser based version
Problem:
- v5.2.6 locks up frequently when(any)items are clicked
- can happen at anytime; doesn't particularly matter what is clicked
- lasts 60 to 120 seconds
Have tried:
- Changing "compatibility mode" to every version (Windows 95 through to Vista SP2) - always the same problem
- Tried changing the "bbover.ini" file to "ServerHostName1=altport.bridgebase.com" and "ServerPort1=80" - always the same problem
Questions:
- Do any other users have this problem? (haven't seen any in the forum)
- Does anyone know how to fix this problem?
Thanks for any help!

I'm running the same configuration, but without any real issues. It'll randomly crash maybe once a month, but that's it.

I have lockups in Windows 7/64 several times per week - usually only about 30 seconds rather than 60 - at all sorts of random times, not just while on BBO. I tend to assume it's a case of garbage collection gone wrong inside the OS rather than anything to do with any one application I am using.
I don't know if my case is exactly the same as yours or not.

I had trouble initially (64-bit Win 7 Home Premium), but the client is working fine now using the XP compatibility mode.

Any particular reason why you don't want to use the browser version? AFAIK, development of the windows client
has stopped, so debugging a infrequent 64 bit platform specific bug may not be high priority. I'm on a 64 bit machine too, was using the client under WINE on linux, but moved to the browser version since the wine client didn't look as good.

Try to turn off sound in your BBO options. In the past, that has helped.
Try the new BBO if you're open to some change. You may like it.

Hi,
Uninstall the BBO and reinstall. It will work fine afterward. I had the same problem.
