Once I opened a LIN file with notepad, and saw the content inside. So I wonder how BBO client deals with such content and displays it. It comes to me that I want to write such file myself too. Hope to get some help here, thx.

there are various threads out there, the main question
to answer is for what purpose?

Have a look at Richard Pavliceks Homepage, there you find
a PBN to LIN converter, so if you write a PBN file, you
can convert that one to LIN.

BBO does not publish the LIN format, only on special request,
but the above mentioned threads give you a good idea how to do
it, sufficient for most of the things one wants to acchieve.

Contrary PBN is an official standard, Pavlicek got the manual
for LIN, and so you are on safe ground.
