Partner lead 4 (4th best). Dummy plays low and I win with A. Declarer follows with Q.

Obviously, we have to rely on for the setting trick. How should I continue?

If I play a low , declarer may win with doubleton Qx. If I lead top (does A or K make any difference?), declarer may guess right with Qxx and besides, how should partner signal with Qxx, Jxx, Jxxx and Qxxx?

I think I need to call the director here about partner's lead out of turn.

I assume we are playing IMPs. I will return a low heart. Partner seems to have led from Txxx or Txxxx.

If it is Txxx, she is unlikely to have Jxxx in hearts(he would have led hearts?). So, our best shot is either partner holding the Q or declarer with Qxx putting up low.

If partner led from Txxxx, declarer has only QJ of spade and hence must have 3 hearts. So, playing low is clear.

Outstanding including the lead are QJT7542. Rule of 11 shows that declarer must hold 2 cards higher than the 4 and the play of the Q directly implies the second card is the J with some possibility of it being the T. Since play on trick 1 guarantees that suit is cooked as a source of tricks lead the 2 in hopes of winning 4 tricks or 3 & a minor suit A.

Not much hope in spades. Partner cannot really have too much elsewhere. I'd return a low heart as well... Admittedly I might have overcalled 1 though.
