Hi, why is the GIB that we rent, does not play/bid/defend as good as the ones i play in acbl robot duplicate ? (They seem to be more stable than the ones we rent)

And will there be additional improvements to GIB usage that allows members who rent it to create a teamgame with Gibs, 1 human+3 gib vs 4 humans or similar combinations ? Will there be any improvement that allows the member to personalize the GIB he/she rented such as via system editor, agressivity etc ?

When you rent GIB you have a choice of the regular GIB for $1/week, or the advanced GIB for $1/day. The latter is like the ones that play in the robot tournaments. The difference is how many hands they use in the simulations. Advanced GIB simulates more hands, so it bids and plays better, but it's slower.

Wait, MrAce, while what barmar says is true, your version of BBO (old downloadable one) does not allow for this.

If you rent GIB, you can adjust the speed of your GIB to make it slower, thus a bit better yourself. Click the GIB button to change settings. It need not be quite identical to the new version's tourney bot quality, but it will be pretty close if you set it slow enough for more simulations.

Alternative if you want it faster, is to use the web version and pay the higher price for advanced bot. :) If you want to try using web version for advanced bot send me an in game mail, I can hook you up with something.
