Obvious 2S for me. Partner will have a far better idea to know what to do in the auction if I show what I have rather than if I make a nebulous cue bid.

I don't mind doubling opponents if the auction gets violent because I am balanced, but I'd be worried to double them only if there is a double fit or partner has long enough hearts to rebid them by himself.

So 2♠ will place us in a better position whenever this gets violent. It is also cheapr for constructive hands so sounds perfect.

Gross. I know we have way more than we promised with 3♦ but gotta worry about those clubs. I suppose I'd bid 6♥ since partner's ♦ bid rates to be on shortness, so he will have something in clubs a lot of the time.

after 5♦ I have an average hand with 3 useful keycards, that should be enough for 6 but probably not for 7.

Anyway I bid 6♥ now to let him know its a double fit hand.

I bid 6♠ because I don't have enough extras for 7. If playing 5NT keycard I might try, but partner won't know how to evaluate idamond void if he has it.

EDIT after I realised how stupid playing hearts is condeming us to lose second and third round of clubs if partner is 4504 or 3505.

Was our auction at the table. I'm not convinced it's right to show spades here, since if the auction comes back at some high level, we may be badly placed. I certainly see the merits of it though. I chose 3♦ at the table, and after that, the spade suit was lost forever. We did well to get to 6♥ after the rough start, but reaching a spade grand on these hands seems awfully tough.

Not if you bid ♠ first. Of course with such a limited hand in terms of point count, I would certainly have opened the hand with 1♠ rather than 1♥. It is not difficult to forsee the problems of losing spades in a competitive auction.

Hi,

This one is not a wtp.

I would start with 2S, even the king of diamonds seems to be placed
ok, so starting with spades will help you best investigating a slam,
I dont have a lot fear, if they start raising diamonds, and even if
they will do, a 3D bid, wont stop them.

Since we have a nice hand, I'd bid 2♠. I don't have much trouble bidding 5♥ later if they preempt us badly, but at least partner will have a better picture of my hand.
