instead of checkbox for friend, neutral and enemy, administrators could try
compatible, neutral and not compatible
it's more accurate and less harsh

I disagree that it's more accurate. To indicate that someone's incompatible, you can put that comment in the "notes" section. Marking someone as "enemy" prevents that person from contacting you; this should be reserved for someone who has behaved badly and earned the "enemy" label.
PS: This belongs in the Bridge Base Online section, not the Offline Bridge section.

This isn't E-Harmony, this is bridge. Which most consider to be the exact opposite in fact.
Yay for the "Ignored Users" feature!

I think you are wrong but it will take you some time to find out why.

Most of the players I have marked as friends are actual bridge friends, or at least acquaintances. They're people I know from f2f bridge, and want to see where they're playing or get notified when they login. It has very little to do with "compatibility".
And enemies are just people I want to filter out of chat, because they've sent me annoying messages. "Incompatible" hardly does this justice.

I merely pick enemies/friends on the basis of I've seen them play in free tournaments and their bidding/play was extremely bad (e.g. go down in easy play contracts) or reasonable (don't have to be fantastic - I am not great myself).
