Bridge Captain's double dummy solver saves hands in pbn format. It will read lin format but does not seem to have an option to write to lin (maybe the paid for version of Bridge Captain might do that?).

I periodically want to load Bridge Captain files up to BBO teaching table. Yes, the facilities then available may be less sophisticated than when running within Bridge Captain, but the BBO option has the advantage of allowing other kibitzers present when you can discuss the hand.

Any solution out there? I think that Wayne's linconverter only goes one way from lin to pbn but I could be wrong. There seems to be a DOS-based program at rpbridge.net but I might lose the will to live if I have to use that. It may be the only solution, but I thought I would try here first.

It would be nice if BBO would recognise files loaded from local disc directly in pbn format. But playin around with this I perceive a bigger problem for teaching tables using the Flash interface. It only seems to allow you to load hand saved on BBO server in an earlier Flash session, rather than hands saved locally. This for me will be a huge disincentive to ditch the Windows client altogether.

Further to the above, I definitely need an alternative to richard pavlicek's file converter. It doesn't like the pbn files that Bridge Captain produces, at all. And that is before I go corrupting them with scoreboard analyses.
