The path of the righteous man is beset on all sides by the iniquities of the selfish and the tyranny of evil men. Blessed is he, who in the name of charity and good will, shepherds the weak through the valley of darkness, for he is truly his brother's keeper and the finder of lost children. And I will strike down upon thee with great vengeance and furious anger those who would attempt to poison and destroy my brothers. And you will know my name is the Lord when I lay my vengeance upon thee.

assuming p has a spade stack I need p to take 4 tricks if we X or 5 tricks w/o X
also assuming I get two tricks with dia AK(in order to score up the magic 200). Not impossible but unlikely. I might x with this hand if I needed a top but would not risk a decent score on such a speculative X.

I would double with this, I think we're favourites to beat it if partner leaves it in, and its not the worst hand ever if partner pulls (hopefully not to 3N). It does remind me of a hand I posted about 9 months ago, arguably worse, and yet double still proved to be the winner, not that 1 hand is enough of a sample (hand here!!)

Pass, I'm surprised this isn't unanimous.

While I am a big proponent for protecting partner this is not the hand for it.

Double is automatic. Partner can beat this on his own. We know this from RHO failure to act. Partner has 5 trumps and a good hand or 4 trumps and a great hand

pass is automatic.
If partner holds 4 Spades in a great hand, we would be playing 3 NT already.
If partner has a real penalty double, we pay.
But with any other hand we won't get overboard like the overbidders...
Kind Regards
